About «Byronizing symphonism» in Russian music (by the example of N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov’s «Antar»)

The symphonic fairy-tale «Antar» is considered as an example of synthesis of romantic West-European (lyrical and dramatic) and Russian programme (pictorial and narrative) symphonic traditions. The parallels with the opuses based on Byron’s plots are made through the peculiarities of problems, intonational dramaturgy and composition.
