Dramaturgic paradoxes in the opera by P. Tchaikovsky «Queen of spades»

The article is devoted to the problems of dramaturgic synthesis which is carried out in «Queen of Spades» by P. Tchaikovsky through the connection of the epic-narrative principles of a ballad genre with the lyriсo-tragic and comic-grotesque principles arising on its basis. The author views the various levels of ballad semantics owing to which the conflict dynamics of the work and its musical conception are formed.
