Oriental motifs in W. A. Mozart’s opera «The Abduction from the Seraglio»
The author raises the problem of implementation of oriental themes and images by the example of the opera «The Abduction from the Seraglio». The preconditions of the use of oriental themes as well as the canvas of the composition plot of are considered. Special attention is paid to the theme «the Occident — the Orient» that was widespread in the Age of the Enlightenment . The embodiment of oriental themes is traced at the level of music dramaturgy as well.
