P. E. Bach’s clavier sonatas — at the beginnings of classic style (to the question of genre interactions)

The author of the article considers clavier creative work of the son of I. S. Bach, C. P. E. Bach. He was a border personality, a symbol of the successive connection between the music of early classicism and the achievements of late baroque period. The originality of composer’s art thinking and the innovation of his performing principles, which became the starting point for the greatest masters of Viennese classic school became apparent in his clavier sonatas.
