The Baroque Art of Music and Mechanicism of the XVII–XVIIIth Centuries
It was the mechanistic picture of the world that was made up in the public consciousness of the XVII–XVIIIth centuries. Both the methods of the musical development and musical forms represented in the baroque musical art correspond to the mechanistic interpretation of movement and conceptions of the time, prevailing in the public consciousness of the given epoch.
