Russian Sacred Music in the Children’s Choir (Towards the Problem of Renovation of the Repertoire)
The actual issues associated with selecting and renovation of contemporary children’s choir repertoire are considered in the article. The author pays particular attention to sacred works by Russian composers of the XIXth century. The most valuable published repertoire collections which include some of highly artistic sacred works of different genre directions are mentioned. Some great festivals of sacred music (in the South of Russia too) which favour the subsequent development of children’s choir performing art are elucidated.
