Formation of the miniature genre in the Russian choral music (on the example of the cycle «St. Petersburg Serenades» by A. Dargomyzhsky)

The article is devoted to the problem of the genre of choral miniature forming in the Russian music throughout the XIXth century. The author pays particular attention to the main factor, contributing to the crystallization of the choral miniature genre, – the flowering of the Russian lyrical verse, in small forms of which compression and concentration of artistic time were realized. Following the text strophes, the Russian composers aimed to form specifically musical approaches to realization of lyric imagery. The analysis of the early types of choral miniature on example of the cycle «St. Petersburg Serenades» by A. Dargomyzhsky is represented in the article. In this cycle owing to the interlacing of related song and romance features, under the influence of the structure of the verse, and the individual work with the word yet, original compositional solutions arise. In the conclusive part, the researcher comes to the inference that early miniatures by A. Dargomyzhsky are the significant stage in the formation of the effective methods and ways as applied to concentration of musical and artistic thinking in a choral work. In the latter, music which is presented as an original artistic component of the synthetic whole, tends to the most complete and thorough immanent and creative interpretation of the poetic source.
