Musical world of Vladimir Krasnoskulov (to the 80th birthday of the composer)

The article is devoted to the Rostov composer, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, Professor Vladimir Krasnoskulov, who turns 80 in 2023. It examines his work from the point of view of the most important topics, genres, creative community. The main theme of his music is love, reflected in various genres, but most clearly manifested in works related to a word. A huge range of feelings of love was embodied in various choral and vocal compositions. The patriotic theme, associated with love for the Motherland, native land, the feats of the Russian people during the war, attracted the composer from the very beginning of his creative path. This topic is extremely relevant at the present time. The theme of childhood, the child’s world has been embodied both in instrumental and in numerous choral compositions. The article deals with the collection of piano pieces “Mishka’s Notebook” and the cantata “Spring is needed!”. A new theme in the music by V. Krasnoskulov is connected with sacred sphere. The article highlights the history of the creation and style features of the choir “Virgin Maria, Rejoice”. The author touches upon the problem of creative collaboration with choral conductors and their performance of Krasnoskulov’s works. The question of the composer’s attitude to potential performers of his romances and songs is considered. His position on this issue is clearly formulated in the publications of recent years, in which the author admits the possibility of sufficient freedom in interpreting his works. The creative community of Vladimir Krasnoskulov and Rostov poets Nikolai Skrebov, Anatoly Ansimov, Vladimir Zaluzhnyj, Svetlana Gershanova is covered.
