Learning to musical notation by visually impaired people: problems and solutions

The paper provides a brief overview of a number of problems related to the inclusive education of blind musicians. These include: the complexity of communication through musical text, the slow pace of study, the shortage of musical literature for the blind. In addition, some of the difficulties are associated with the universally accepted L. Braille notation system, which does not allow you to play several lines of musical text at the same time. The fixation of the musical text in Braille is also associated with a number of physical efforts: the relief-point system involves knocking out points on a dense cardboard with the awl and for technical reasons is carried out by the user from right to left, in the reverse order of the final direction of the final musical text.

The author of the paper offers his own system of notation based on the pan-European principle of menzural notation. The system is a complete analogue of the generally accepted notes. It allows work with high complicated musical texts, and it possible not only to perform tasks on musical and theoretical subjects, but also creates conditions for the future of a full-fledged music editor.

The system of geometric notation for musicians with visual impairments is based on practical experience. It is one of the possible systems that can be used with visually impaired musicians. The experience of professional teachers in typhlology confirms the need to acquaintance the blind and visually impaired with the generally accepted musical text.

Studying the proposed method is intended to give a musician with serious vision problems new opportunities for working with notes and will provide an opportunity to be in direct contact with other musicians, including in the context of inclusive education.
